When I try to reinsert the plastic piece into the hole, it does not hold. At first I thought I wasn't using enough pressure, but actually the plastic piece was broken. It acts as some sort of lock to prevent the lid from coming off. Read in a blog that some else dealt with this problem before and used this insert to fix the problem. Thank goodness, after buying this item I knew what to do with it.
