The sole exception is in cable tool items, in which case their prices can be quite variable (especially hard to find cable tools which tend to be through cable company sales only who charge painful rates for lower quality tools). I seem to almost always be better off, in terms of availability and price, going to newelectronx than to the nearest mall, even considering sales and specialty.
