• Set Top Terminal Mechanical Security Pin is a small plastic pieces that cannot be avoided when doing repairs on cable boxes, satellite receivers, DVR recorders, PVR Players, or telecommunications set top terminals.
Removing the top, lid, or cover to gain access to internal components of the set top cable TV box involves breaking the single use security pin. Set top terminals (Motorola, Jerrold, Pace, Tocom, General Instrument, AT&T, Verizon, etc.) use security pins on the unichassis construction to prevent tamper and make tampering evident. When the plastic nylon tamper-proof security pin is broken reuse is not permissible.
- A solution that makes tampering obvious and warns
- The security pin must be cut, broken force, or pliers to break mechanical security of the unichassis construction
- Reinforces access to internal electronics of the set top terminal to authorized personnel
- The security pin maintains its safety function & prevents tampering
- Prevents users from voiding set top terminal warranty
It is required by telecom refurbish, recycling, repair facilities to replace this security pin prior to releasing the set top terminal back into use. Telecommunications companies such as the following require these plastic tamper clip seal pins for their analog/digital DVR PVR tuner receivers:
