• The basic principle of the DVR has transformed the way people watch television. A DVR is a digital video recording device that is sometimes called a PVR, which means almost the same thing – personal video recorder. It is a consumer electronic device that is programmed with application software. This application software allows it to record video in digital format to different types of memory.

DVR owners have their digital video recorder settings on their device automatically set to record TV, videos, sports, and movies for later viewing. Most DVRs have a feature that lets you subscribe to shows; set the DVR once and never worry about missing another episode again, even if it changes times or days of the week.

The most common memory used in the DVR is the hard drive. Local DVR hard drives normally exceed their recording capacity. Video files such as sports, movies, TV shows, and other telecommunication programming are very large High-definition files stored to the DVR hard drive memory using the application software. At its most basic level, a DVR is really just a computer designed for a specific task. And just like any other computer, with the right screwdrivers, knowledge and tools, you can switch out components for new hardware.

Video files use up tons of storage space on the hard drive. The basic math depicts 80 to 180 hours of standard programming; or 20 hours of high-definition television programming memory space isn't enough. Wow these sets do have it all!

fixed a broken tuner button on a jerrold MODEL CFT 2254 JAA/700/R2/12/SP descrambler. took off the 4 proprietary screws to remove the case and then remove the philips head screws from the mother board and turner. soldered a new electronic button to the pcb and it works like new. replaced the plastic broken tab. looks like new.
